The Tingens

Cool date

Jacob and I decided to go on our hot date in the afternoon today instead of the evening (partly because driving at night is terrible here–there is no street lighting whatsoever!). And what did we do? We went to Deep Run Park about five minutes from where we live. We’d been meaning to find a naturey place to go because in Provo we used to go up the canyon a lot and we missed that kind of activity, so finally we asked someone and they told us about this place, which is actually on the way to church.

At the park there was a lake, and when we walked around it we came to a bench that had writing engraved into it. We hoped it would be something sentimental like the bench in Provo around the corner from my parents’ house: “Pause neighbor, sit and enjoy God’s handiwork. If it’s with someone you love, hold their hand and tell them so.”

Unfortunately, this bench only said “Keep Henrico clean!”

Anyway, here are some pictures of our new favorite park in Virginia, including a couple views of the lake from that disappointing bench we were sitting on:

  1. Oh, I love getting outside and into nature! That looks like a great park. Too bad the bench was boring. That is a very unique bud! I love the cute acorns. I showed an acorn to Julia the other day, and she liked feeling all the different textures. Great pictures!
