Our little Christmas concert

Since we didn’t have church meetings today, we decided we would watch the First Presidency Christmas devotional again, which we greatly enjoyed. President Monson, President Eyring and President Uchtdorf are inspired prophets of God. Over the years I have gained a greater appreciation for the stories that the general authorities share. Before, I really only thought of them as stories; however, I’ve come to a deeper understanding of them as tools for teaching great principles that might otherwise be difficult to communicate effectively.

I was also grateful for the music of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. And it’s cool to think that Jacob used to play with them 🙂

For most some of the rest of the day we decided to continue in the jolly music tradition and record some more songs on the computer. The mike on this thing is actually pretty impressive! We didn’t do any enhancings; the only thing that’s added is the echoey studio-sounding background. And of course we couldn’t record ourselves doing several parts at the same time without the computer.

So here’s our little Christmas concert (including the song I did yesterday). We made use of trombone, recorder, guitar, voice, and Jacob’s whistle to create these musical masterpieces mwahahaha!!!

  1. Fun, fun! I turned on The First Noel, and all three of my boys came running, “What’s that Mom?” So, cute! I wish you could have watched their faces while they listened it to. Great way to spend a snowed in Sunday just before Christmas!
