Hohum general update

I (Tonya) am a terrible blogger, as I’m sure you can tell by now since all of the posts are Jacob’s. But I’m trying to at least make an effort at mending my ways…

As far as the general summer is going, we’re having a marvelous time planning for Virginia, including moving details and finding an apartment. FORTUNATELY, the LDS Church is located everywhere, and last night Jacob was able to call the bishop of the ward we’ll probably be in and get a few pointers about the area. I love the Church (and not just for the network)!

I am so happy to be done with school. Free free free! Amazingly, I’ve found so many things to do to fill my time, even after having finished my job as a translator at BYUTV International in mid-May. I have been looking for other translation work online, with little a.k.a. no success, but one of the main things that takes up my time is being a volunteer  interpreter at the hospital. It’s really cool to be able to see what’s done in so many departments of the hospital without actually being a doctor; I think I’ve been in so many ultrasounds by now that when it comes to be my turn for myself, I’d be able to tell the doctor what to do!

So interpreting at the hospital’s actually been pretty exciting. I was intimidated before I first started, but I’ve come to like it so much that I’m looking into doing it in Virginia as well, until we have kids.

And that’s a little of what I’ve been up to.

  1. Wow! What excitement! I’m glad your eyes and your car are ok. Good luck with your move! You’ll do great things in Virginia… The non-Utah ward you move to will LOVE having you! 🙂
