The Weather Outside is Frightful: Emergency!!!

The Governor of VA has declared today that we are in a state of emergency. It’s been snowing like mad since yesterday evening. The funny thing is, it’s just snow–it really isn’t that bad, maybe only a foot. On the other hand, no one cleans the roads here, so the snow just sits around and everyone hides in their homes hoping it will go away. We tried to make a snowman in it, but the snow has proven useless in that regard. Oh, well…

Aside from that, it’s been fun. I’ve been reading, Tonya’s recorded a song. We’re going to make chocolate chip cookies tonight with mint chocolate chips. Oh, and church has been canceled tomorrow. Anyway, pictures of the disaster area are below. Given how people are freaking out, maybe this snow will compete with Katrina 🙂

  1. Too bad about the heat! When are you going to get it turned on? Did you get a chance to make snow cream? I’ve got the recipe, if you need/want it. I made it once on my mission and served it on french toast for breakfast. It was pretty good. I’ll think of you while I’m going to church tomorrow in short sleeves and no jacket! 🙂

  2. Great blog background! sounds like today (Sunday) will be very relaxed. good luck with the heat and thanks for the posts!

  3. Sounds familiar! We got a winter wonderland too, and our church is canceled. But we don’t have mint chocolate chip cookies. We do have heat, though. Sorry you don’t–way too cold!
