The Tingens

Who knew?

Well, in my job search I’ve been taken to an unexpected opportunity: political missionary work!

The other day I heard a knock at the door so I opened it and a girl about my age was standing there.

What was unexpected about it was that the first thing she said was “Oh, you’re LDS!” since she’d seen the picture of Christ we have up. It turns out she’s LDS as well and went to BYU with a degree in poli-sci, and now that she’s here she’s been looking  for a job. As you know, those are hard to come by, but somehow she ended up with the campaign for a governor candidate, going door to door and giving pamphlets and taking surveys (which she did to me as well).

I said I was looking for work as well, and said I might be interested in doing what she was doing, so she gave me the contact info etc.

It’s a decent part-time gig that only lasts until the election in November, so even if I’m not a fan, it won’t last long.

I finally decided to go ahead with it and emailed the coordinator back today saying I could go in, so at 4:30 I’m going to start going around door to door, like the good old mission days, giving pamphlets.

Wish me luck!

  1. Good luck on your new job! It’s nice to have something “productive” to do, huh? Let us know how you like door to door for something other than the gospel!
