The Tingens

So mostly we have just been continuing life as normal around here. Last weekend we went to the baptism of a really amazing couple (the ones who got married not too long ago whose wedding we blogged about). Marina and Giovanni are so enthusiastic and cheerful and fun to be around and will be a huge strength to the branch.

Sister Cabas was released as branch Primary president about a month ago while we were out of town. The next week President Castanos called me and Jacob into his office and released me as Primary counselor. Then about 30 seconds later he called me to be Primary president. You know, I was thinking about how Jacob and I have spent more time in Spanish wards since we’ve been married than English wards, even though both times–Orem and Richmond–we specifically planned to be in the English ward because we wanted to make friends our own age in our own situation. I guess nothing always turns out as you plan eh? Apparently the Lord has a lot for us to learn from the Spanish community. And we’ve made some super awesome friends.

  1. Hello Tonya and Jacob,

Wow, there is alot to read about and catch up on.
We are at the shore, as Philly people say, and we are in Oregon at the moment. We’ve been driving everywhere, and have several stories to tell. Holly has even been to the Garden of Eden, with the serpent in the tree of Life! Do any of you remember that place? If so, can you tell me which state it is in?
And oh, yes, do you remember what Magic Valley is famous for in our family album?
    Good Luck with your guesses.
    Love, Mama and Holly
