Here in Philadelphia visiting…Julia?

So, Brent and Jenny are gone this weekend in Disney World. In that case, why are we visiting Philadelphia?

Cause Tonya’s mom, Marlene, is out taking care of Julia for the weekend, and we thought we’d join in on the fun–home cooked meals, nap time, diaper changes…uh, just kidding. We thought we’d take advantage of this rare opportunity to hang out with Tonya’s mom and spoil Julia while her parents are away 🙂

So anyway, we’ve enjoyed ourselves here, and we all went out to see the liberty bell and independence hall yesterday. We also ate some really good pizza and pasta at this italian restaurant. We’ll see what adventures we have tomorrow, but for now you can enjoy looking over what we’ve done.

the national constitution center. they charge way too much to learn about freedom, so we didn’t actually get to see anything 🙂

we really liked this inscription beside Benjamin Franklin’s grave. Click on the photo to read the inscription. Ben wrote this, but didn’t want it on his tombstone. He wrote it earlier in his life.

after the graveyard we went over to wait our turn to go see independence hall where the declaration of independence and the constitution were signed.

They had this statue behind independence hall but we didn’t go check out what it was. Probably should have though

Before going inside independence hall they take you into this room and give you some history. This painting of the signing of the constitution was in the room

There’s not good lighting inside independence hall so a lot of the pictures turned out really dim 🙁

they had some random art inside the constitution center. Even though we didn’t go in and get to see all the exhibits we did get to see a few things
