Sorry it’s been so long since our last post. The thing is, we’ve been really busy. We mean like busy busy. Sometimes I can’t believe how much we have to do from week to week, but just the same, that means we have so much to catch up on.

Tonya got a haircut. The stylist tried to cut and style Tonya’s hair exactly like the picture she had taken, so the stylist made this fake windblown look.

this is Tonya’s hair after showering and without the fake windblown look. it’s a nice haircut, but she’s determined to go even shorter with her hair at some point in the future.

these are just a few postcards from Tonya’s crazy postcard collection.

This is when Michelle and Roger visited us in October. They were tons of fun and we hope to hang out with them soon before they move away from us.

This is from the fiesta de naciones. In this picture alone we represent the U.S., Mexico, and Italy.

Our friend Martha in the “desfile” or fashion walk. She bought the dress just in plain blue but she decorated it all by herself.

Tonya made a scene when she busted out the moves on the desfile with her hat over her head. The hispanic ladies in the branch haven’t let her hear the end of it. They love hermana Tingen. Even today, one sister looked at me, started laughing and then mentioned Tonya with the hat over her head.

Tonya got really excited about having to decorate the USA room. She drew the temple and the statue of liberty on the chalkboard.

Here, we put Tonya’s postcard collection to good use, decorating the USA room with places from all over the states.

The little guy there is Carlos. He just turned 8 and he got baptized.

Carlitos and Bro. Williams. Because of Carlos’ mom’s work schedule the Williams family has really taken him under their wing.

These next few pictures are fun. Tonya wanted a picture of us in front of the doors, but it was a cold windy day and so nobody was walking around the temple to ask if they would take a picture of us. So this was Tonya setting up the camera with a timer.

She didn’t quite make it for this picture.

We also invited a Witch over to Brent and Jenny’s house to make this awesome brew of rootbeer.

For their ward halloween party Tonya and I went as Ketchup and Mustard. Brent and Jenny went as Salt and Pepper. Julia was Snow White.

These people moved into Brent and Jenny’s ward in Philadelphia. Funny thing is, we knew them in Provo. They were in my ward and got engaged. Then they were in Tonya’s marriage prep class, so it’s fun to see these friends now when we go to Philly. They are a stop light and a map.

This is a picture from the federal courthouse where I had the fake trial.

we had a special FHE for sister martinez. Her husband got deported to Mexico and so now they are moving back. the FHE was a farewell to the martinez family. they were a good and strong family, and we’ll miss them.

This last friday we went on a double date with this english speaking couple to see this Richmond Youth Symphony

Us in the theatre. The theatre was really cool, but the lighting wasn’t conducive to good picture taking.

Josh and Stacy–the other couple on the double date. They are awesome!

Us in front of the Carpenter Theatre. It’s newly renovated, so it’s all fancy schmancy. we want to see something cool in it sometime soon.

I thought this was a cool angle of tonya looking up at the temple. This is probably why I don’t take the pictures normally.

Tonya says the shadow of the bag I’m holding makes it look like I have fat hips.

There’s this little bench at the end of this short path beside the temple.

Us in reverse because Tonya said I wasn’t taking the picture right so she had to hold it 🙂

This is cause I blinked during the first picture.

Wow, how do you comment on all of that? You guys are awesome. Brent & I laughed several times looking at all the pics. Tonya, we want a reenactment of the desfile. Great job with the USA room! Cool temple pics. Thanks for coming up for Halloween. Can’t wait to see you this week.

I laughed when you said “Thanks, Dad for the socks”. You can always count on Dad finding random socks! I love chopping my hair off, too Tonya. You’ll look great even shorter (when you decide to go there).

Jacob, you got a picture with Tonya looking pregnant! The slanted one of Tonya looking at the temple. I love it! I hope it is real and not just the sweater.

The temple door pictures from the earlier visit look pretty amazing. I had no idea they were that cool.

What is a piano dollar?

  yeah, Tonya is starting to have a little bitty belly now, though I think that picture is mostly sweater.
  
  a piano buck is something Tonya invented to inspire her piano students. They earn them and then she takes them out for treats.

Yea, I finally get a chance to catch up and enjoy the post, and mustard leave a comment of what a cool way to sahre your happenings and friends with us. I’m all for photos with captions. And thank you, thank you, who would have thought that all those years of post card collecting would promote such a creative use!!!!!!!!!!! Did you tell people that you have actually been to all of those places? Yea, for a mom’s creative way of history education!!!!
It’s the countdown until Tuesday’s news. We are on pins and needles waiting to hear your news about the baby!
