Well, this is the post you’ve been waiting for, assuming of course that you wait for posts on our blog. So anyways, here are our pictures over christmas and the new year.

this was one of our christmas joys on the road trip down to georgia

warren and micah (jacob’s brother and sister and law) took us to the zoo with their family

they had this cool parakeet area where you could buy bird seed on a stick and lure parakeets close

These are Warren and Micah’s kids, Savannah is the girl and then Zachary is on the right while Justus is on the left.

we sat in this nest waiting for a giant albatross to give us food… just kidding.

the atlanta zoo is famous for the gorillas

here, Zachary is showing the panda where he is on the zoo map. apparently, every time Zachary goes to the zoo he has to have a copy of the map with him.

it was exciting to see kangaroos, although I’m not sure why

Santa came to visit the Kiwanis club, and the Kiwanis club was nice enough to feed everyone who came. That’s Micah in the front and her dad behind Jacob in the back.

later when we were hanging out with Malinda and Tyler we went to a friend’s house to make gingerbread houses. Tonya took some pictures of these nativity scenes

there were gingerbread christmas trees too

This is Casey, Malinda and Tyler’s baby boy. He’s a ton of fun

When we finally made it to Jacob’s parent’s house in Barnesville, we went to this lady’s house, who does a really awesome job with the christmas lights around her house. All these lights, one house.

This is the bird shop where we picked up Sunny and Dash.

Jacob and his dad went and played trombone for one of the sister’s in the branch who wasn’t going to be able to make it to the Christmas party

All of Jacob’s family came down to his parent’s house to open christmas gifts.

Haley and Max. Haley is Todd and Andrea’s youngest girl, and she let’s Max kiss her.

Tonya picked up these cool christmas hats, you’ll get a better view later on. This is Sabrina wearing the hat.

This is the building they are making for the thomaston branch, the branch of the church Jacob grew up in.

Tonya was really proud of this picture. Apparently, her family was once driving through Atlanta, and Tonya’s mom wanted to get a picture of the olympic flame here in Atlanta. They made various loops around the city just to get the picture, but Tonya got her picture in one try.

The temple, we went to see the lights around the DC temple for our anniversary

They also had a swing band and we listened to them play some cool christmas music

They had nativities from all over the world in the visitor’s center

Us the next day after we went to the temple

For the new year we ended up at the house of some friends of some friends who are now our friends

Stella and Jesse, these are the friends of friends. We went to their house and they were great hosts.

This is Michelle and Roger. These are the friends who invited us to their friend’s house. Always great to make new friends through friends… right?

Us. I can explain the grape in my mouth. We were playing this game during the count down of the new year. Apparently it’s a mexican thing, however many grapes you get down during the count down is how many resolutions you will complete during the year. I was just getting the grapes ready

Keeping track of Tonya’s pregnancy belly. Here she is at 5 and a half months.

Fun to see pictures guys. Your birds remind me of Fred and Mary. I know, not the same breed, but still.

Wow! Tonya, I thought I was small this go around, but you’ve got me beat (and probably always will!) in the small department.

I loved seeing the picture of the branch building and that picture of Will… I didn’t recognize him!

Anyway, love your updates!

Fun pictures! Idea: you know how some families have make little marks on the doorsill or wall to track how their children are growing over time. You could do the same with Tonya’s belly! Have her stand sideway against a corner wall, back to one side, and mark on the other wall every month or so:-)

Did you like Uno’s?! That’s one of my favorite restaurants, love it! I hope you love it too. What a cool zoo! I want to go there someday. At first when I saw the pics of the DC temple I was like, “What? They were in DC? Why didn’t they stop and visit us?!” Then I remembered you live in Richmond. Phew! Love you guys and your little girl too!

Wow, that felt like a month’s worth of catching up. That is very cool so see and hear all of the people and things in your lives. Thanks for sharing.

And yes, I did get my picture of the Atlanta Olympic Torch, even at a high cost. The irony is that last time we went to Georgia, I took a better photo in fewer attempts as well. Congrads on being well trained by your “Mommy”!
Oh, Tonya, did you know you have a specific type of flu?
It’s the Egyptian flu-a “mummy”–heheeee
