I love being a mom! It’s been one month now and I do not regret a single moment. Maybe Natalie is spoiling us for how good she is and we’ll be in for an interesting surprise with our next children, but really she has been very good. The main difficulty was breastfeeding; it really hurt for the first weeks, but it has become much better now.
Natalie still sleeps the majority of the time and only cries for three reasons: hungry, diaper, wants to be held. This last reason is my favorite. I love being the go-to person for someone, the one she looks to for comfort and protection. It makes me feel special and needed and loved, and like Holy cow I’m her mom–she wants me! I’m sure down the road that might turn into feeling used and unappreciated sometimes i.e. Mom I want this! Mom can you do this! Mom take me here!
But for now I’m loving holding her and rocking her and singing to her (normal songs, for the most part). She’s definitely a keeper!

Ohhhhhh, I am just ooo-ing and awww-ing over here. I can’t wait to meet her! I love all the pictures of her, and the love you two have for her is so evident. Super awesome parents!
I’m glad you love being a mom–I’m sure that Natalie loves having you as a mom. You’re such a kind, fun, enthusiastic person.
