The Tingens

pre-Christmas joys

This is the first in our series of Christmas posts (making a series because I’m giving myself a limit for how long I can spend on here). We have had a wonderful holiday season and have loved spending time with family and friends and focusing on the birth of our Savior. For some strange reason, ever since November and Thanksgiving I have just been feeling really genuinely grateful about everything; I’ve had a negative attitude problem all year that I’ve been working on–aka “I hate my job!” “We don’t have enough storage space in our apartment!” “We don’t have enough cabinet space in our kitchen!” “We don’t have enough time for anything!” “We don’t have enough ___!” –and it seems the Thanksgiving season finally helped bring me around. It feels much better to be grateful than pessimistic!

So here are pictures of the enjoyable pre-Christmas joys that we enjoyed, namely my Christmas work party and us trying to take pictures for our Christmas card. Since the beginning of December we had been playing Christmas music at work, and the day of the party (Dec 16) I felt particularly Christmasy. We had an awesome time. I really do work with a great group of people over there…

  1. Our boys were looking at your Christmas card picture the other day and David read it to them. They were a bit confused by the “baby girl Tingen” since Tingen’s a boy. Poor boys, they don’t get yet that half their cousins are Tingens too. 🙂
