The Tingens

Why am I awake

I think it’s been years since I’ve gotten up in the middle of the night unable to get back to sleep. I think it’s a combination of having gone to bed too early and Jacob being in Charlottesville to take a test tomorrow morning, although I don’t know why his absence would make me not fall asleep this time since he is often up far later than I am aka I am definitely conked out before he ever gets into bed. Jacob I love you!

So I’ve just spent the last little while looking at everybody’s blog listed on our website. I’m so happy to see everyone doing so well! Of course blogs are only snapshots, but it’s nice to see people having a good life. Friends and family adventuring, getting new jobs, getting accepted to grad school, having/expecting new babies, having fun with their old ‘babies…’ Life is good.

Also it’s cool being awake because I can feel Natalie Tingen moving! She has a habit of doing that much more often recently. It’s so nice to know she’s still in there!

  1. Wow, Tonya, I wish I was that small at 7 months! I know what you mean about not being able to get back to sleep. It’s good training for when you have to get up in the middle of the night to feed/rock a baby to sleep. 🙂

Happy birthday J! I feel so lame that I thought Monday was your birthday (which is why I called then). I didn’t realize it was the 28th until David pointed it out to me that night!

  2. “Wake up, wake up!” as you bent over me and pulled my eyelids open! That is a memory I have of you waking me up in the early, early morning. Maybe it’s Natalie’s turn to wake you up and say, “Here I am. Get ready for me!”
He he. We’re excited here for her arrival too.

  3. There were two cute little babies blessed at church last Sunday and I smiled and thought of you in about two months. I hope everything is going well and that you and Jacob are getting everything ready that you need for your new little baby. 🙂
