We have been loving general conference so far and are looking forward to what new temples they will announce, if any 😉 Natalie was taking a nap during the first session, but she caught the afternoon session and was taking copious notes while simultaneously playing with birthday balloons and entertaining Gramma. 😉
My mom took the chance to come down for a week after visiting Brent and Jenny after Jenny had the baby, so we’ve been enjoying having her around. Perfect timing to be here for Natalie’s one year birthday! We decided to keep it small and chill, just having over our friends who came out with us from Utah. Unfortunately Natalie didn’t get into the cake-demolishing activity…just kind of stared at everyone staring at her expectantly. Oh well.
Among the lovely gifts from relatives, she got a couple “presents” that we are so surprised and happy about! Very late this week Jacob got an email from the firm he’s been volunteering with since we’ve been out here, and they finally gave him a job offer! At this point we were going to accept anything, even if it meant moving away, but we’re happy to be around here for a few more years now, especially if Heidi and Eric come out…
So now that Jacob officially will have a job (phew! I’m pretty sure we’ll accept the offer:)), there’s a house nearby we’ve been looking at that’s for sale, so who knows! We put a picture below. And this would be perfect timing as well to get more space, because Natalie also is getting a new sibling for her birthday! Actually it won’t be born on her birthday, more like November, but I’m sure she’ll appreciate it either way. This will make grandbaby number 4 on the Tingen side and grandbaby number 3 on the Showalter side for 2012!
Now the only thing that’s missing is Jacob’s books getting published. He got an email from an agent this week saying Shadowhero was a tough call for her, but she ultimately rejected it because she wasn’t “100% enthused.” Ha. Someone will get it someday.
So Natalie had a pretty fantastic birthday! Thank you everyone for all your support and love!
