Hazel’s first birthday, Christmas in Georgia

I think this is the longest we’ve gone without posting. Sorry! I just can’t keep up.

Hazel’s first birthday: we’re so glad to have Hazel with us! She is very adventuresome and has learned to walk and climb and this week she tried to jump up and down with me and Natalie 🙂 Her whole face lights up when she smiles and I love her laugh.

Thanksgiving felt like Hazel’s birthday again, since she was born last Thanksgiving. We celebrated with the Engstroms with the traditional Turkey dinner and lounging about.

Christmas we spent two weeks in Barnesville, Georgia with Jacob’s parents. I loved having Natalie and Hazel getting to know so many cousins! Jacob’s sister also came out from Arizona and stayed in the same house, so we had lots of cousin time with them 🙂 Highlights from the trip: Hazel learned to walk while we were at the Atlanta temple; Christmas Eve we got together with all the families, including Skyping Jacob’s brother in China and other brother’s family in Utah. Christmas Day we had a marvelous dinner at his Aunt Sissie’s place, and New Year’s Eve we spent at one of his brother’s house. We also got to go to the Georgia Aquarium. On our way back we finally stopped at the BMW museum in SC! Every time we’ve gone down, we’ve passed the museum and said, Man we should try going there sometime. So now we did. Yay.

I love Christmas and the extra emphasis on baby Jesus and following His example of lovingkindness. Thank you everyone for sharing your Christmas wishes with us, and happy 2014!
