March – Grandma, zoo

The highlight of this month so far has been Grandma’s visit. We did some hanging around, which was nice, but we also had some adventures at the park and the zoo. Side note, I love the Richmond Zoo because the animals are so active and noisy, unlike most other zoos I’ve been to where they’re just lying around. The Richmond Zoo has tons of funny, crazy monkeys. This time there were a couple black ones that had quite the noisy exchange–just sitting there, but “chatting” as loudly as all get out–you could hear them halfway across the zoo. And another pair was sitting on a branch, with [presumably] the male bellowing (sounded more like burping) nonstop on in- and out-breaths. Lots of the little monkeys were swinging and zipping around, playing, throwing things, banging into the walls (those ones seemed a little angrier than the others…).

So anyway, we were so glad to have Grandma in town. We’re sorry our couch has deteriorated to unsleepability since the last visit, but we hope that your back will forgive us and that the cherished grandbaby memories will outshine any discomforts your back may remember.
