The Tingens

A field trip to the zoo!

Today I went to the zoo it was pretty fun. It was called Faunia. Even though the tour guide spoke in Spanish I understood one thing she said: These penguins’ population has gone done down because they get stuck it people’s fishing nets and because people have stolen their eggs. Even though that’s not a lot to understand I’m still really happy that I understood something.

During lunchtime I got to see a seal show. At the end a seal did a backwards flip in the air.

This is an example of the flip. (I tried, it’s not the best drawing.) But anyways it was pretty cool.

On the tour there was one of those rooms where you’re surrounded by water but you’re not touching the water because there’s glass/plastic blocking it. That room was pretty cool. And there was a manatee just sitting on top of the glass/plastic. It’s weird to have a giant manatee just sitting over you.

After lunch and the show we went on without a tour guide. I wanted to read the descriptions of everything (they were in Spanish and English) but basically what everybody did was find the animal, look at it for 5 seconds, then go to the next habitat. But I wanted to read the descriptions and actually look at the animals. Another annoying thing was that some people kept making annoying noises at the animals and was talking very loud which scared the animals off. They kept doing this even though the teachers and the tour guide kept telling them to be quiet and not scare the animals off.

Anyways I thought it was pretty fun so yeah. Tis the story of my field trip to the zoo.

  1. I like your depiction of the seal doing a backward flip! Seals are very smart and people friendly too. I have never had a manatee over my head. They are big animals. I am glad you went to the zoo.

  2. I like to read all the info about the exhitbits too whenever go to visit interesting places. Animals are living ceatures. We need to know more than that they exist. Heavenly Galther wants us to help take care them tooSo we should learn all we can about them.
