Pronounced uh-KWY-uh, not AH-kwee-uh, akin to aqua, like we thought.
Aquia Creek is a tributary that feeds into the Potomac, and a neighborhood around it, Aquia Harbor, is where we got an air bnb while we wait for our visas, in a nice home that is on the waterfront. There is a pool in the backyard and a couple kayaks, all of which have been nice and relaxing to make use of.
We got this place to be closer to DC so that when our visas come we won’t have as long of a drive, and also so we can do fun things in the DC area while we wait.
The first fun thing we did was, on Friday we went up to Planet Word! As their website describes, Planet Word is an immersive language experience in DC, with interactive exhibits that bring words to life! I can’t say we saw any live words while we were there, but all the museum’s displays were super fun and very informative. I definitely want to go back.
