Halloween!

So, Halloween is becoming a thing in Madrid, apparently.

I was not surprised we had Halloween activities and decorations in my English classes because that’s half the point of my job–sharing culture from English-speaking countries. But beyond that, we were surprised how much Halloween there was:

One of the students in my classes mentioned that they were going trick-or-treating in a suburban neighborhood that gets all decked out and hands out lots of trick-or-treating candy.

The elementary school invited the students to come to school in costumes on Halloween, and they had a Halloween party after school.

In the evening we were just planning on watching a Halloween movie, but one of our neighbors knocked on our door and told us that a bunch of people were going trick or treating, and they had costumes for us in case we needed some. So the movie-watching was postponed until Hazel, Tyrus, and Grace had made some rounds and picked up some loot.
