All of our kids had school Christmas performances this year. Natalie and Hazel participated in their school choirs and got to perform at the fancy Casa de Correos downtown at Sol, and Hazel, Tyrus and Grace participated in elaborate shows created by the school music director, one show on one day for the younger grades and one the next day for the older grades. Each class performed a piece that was part of an overarching story, the story being about how the “treasure of Christmas” has been lost, so the students were on a quest, with each class going to a different “island,” to find the true treasure of Christmas. And of course the end discovery is that “The treasure of Christmas is you!” 🙂 Somehow they managed to include a number with Darth Vader to the music of Transiberian Orchestra, which fit very well into the story impressively enough, another number with pirates, another from the Greatest Showman, and more traditionally, Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You. We’ve included a small sampling of the performances.
